(Hong Kong, December 19, 2016) The We R Family Foundation, which receives major support from the Li Ka Shing Foundation, held a Charity Walk on the Peak on December 18 to raise funds for the 333 Learning Companion Leadership Program.
We R Family Foundation Chairman Mr. Charles Chong, Executive Director Ms. Teresa Lin, Director Mr. L.C. Chan, Director Mr. Bob Chong, and Mr. H.S. Chong, Director of both the Li Ka Shing Foundation and the We R Family Foundation, participated in the Walk. The Honourable Matthew Cheung Kin-Chung, GBS, JP, Secretary for Labour and Welfare, officiated at the starting ceremony.
We R Family has injected HK$102 million to establish the 333 Companion Leadership Program, over half of which is sponsored by the Li Ka Shing Foundation. Funds raised from the Charity Walk will be used for the sustainable development of the Program, further promoting the educational development and competitiveness of children and youth growing up in underprivileged families.
333 Learning Companion Leadership Program was launched in 2010, and the program now covers 120 primary and secondary schools. There are also four training centres serving more than 4,300 students.
Many individuals and organizations from different sectors took part in the Charity Walk, which boasted nearly 700 participants.
