(9 December 2019, Hong Kong) With deep appreciation for the support we received from many, the Li Ka Shing Foundation has successfully completed the final round of the Crunch Time Instant Relief Fund programme. The final group of applicants selected through random computer process will receive the funds either via autopay or cashier’s orders before mid-December.

Technology, Humanness and Trust

In accordance with the direction from Mr Li Ka-shing and on the recommendation of the professional teams, some applications that were disqualified by the AI system are now included as eligible. PricewaterhouseCoopers has verified all applications that were rejected by the system. As a result, the total donation amounted to HK$1,009,000,000 and more than 28,000 SMEs in the F&B, retail, and travel sectors, as well as licensed hawkers have benefited from this programme.

The Foundation would like to once again express our heartfelt appreciation to our partners: HSBC, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Woo Kwan Lee & Lo, Google Cloud, ESDLife, Welab, and Hongkong Post.
