Mr Li Ka-shing takes a close look at the model of the SUMU, which will be built with a multi-disciplinary focus on the life sciences by integrating valuable resources of STU. Covering a total floor area of 39,000 square metres, this RMB440 million-LKSF donated new SUMC building is inspired by the human brain stem and envisioned by Herzog de Meuron, designers of the famous “Bird Nest” in Beijing.
