(Hong Kong, 18 July 2016) Sounds Great has been producing audio books since its inception in 2014. Local artists and vocal talents come together to record Chinese literary classics, Cantonese opera, and celebrity autobiographies to preserve Hong Kong’s collective memory. The Li Ka Shing Foundation, through its “Love HK Your Way!” campaign, has made a donation to support the production of a new series of “Sounds Great” audio books to be donated to charitable organizations, allowing the elderly and other underprivileged groups to enjoy high quality audio recordings of their favorite books.
“Love HK Your Way!” conceived in 2010 with a contribution of HK$300 million, combines the power of innovation and community awareness to build a better Hong Kong. The first project to be launched this year under the campaign, this HK$2.5 million contribution to “Sounds Great” supports the production of 10,000 audio books, which will be given to 100 organizations that serve the elderly, visually impaired, and the disabled, among many others. The ten new titles will be launched in July.
