Project Goals and Purpose

  • “Love Ideas, Love HK” 2010-2013 was a charity campaign launched by the Foundation to engage Hong Kong citizens in a united effort to improve the community. The campaign called for project ideas that combine the powers of technology, charity, and creativity. Members of the public were urged to vote for their favorite project ideas. A total of 1.08 million voters had cast 4.059 million votes to select 763 projects to benefit over 2.23 million people and animals.
  • In 2013, the Foundation and social workers in Hong Kong co-organised “The March of Social Engineers,” which attracted 36,322 votes from 2,970 registered social workers. Of 390 proposals, the top 90 projects received funding, benefitting up to 210,000 people.
  • Other projects:

    • 333 Learning Companion Leadership Programme: offered tutorial and extracurricular classes for 6,000 students from North District, Kwun Tong, Sham Shui Po, and Tin Shui Wai.
    • “Serene Teen” – Child and Youth Wellness Centre cum Training Centre at the Nethersole Hospital: provided professional care for children and youth suffering from mental illnesses and related services for their families.
    • “Summer Fun”: In collaboration with St James’ Settlement, the campaign treated 23,000 children from low-income families to 3D movies, small gifts, and balloons during the summer holiday.
    • “Love More” Short Films: 12 short creative films directed by 12 distinguished Hong Kong directors showcased how thoughtful, caring, and capable of love Hong Kong’s young and old could be. The films received a total of 8.4 million views.
