“Love Can Help” Medical Assistance Programme (Two Phases)

Project Goals and Purpose
The programme served as a caring friend for patients falling outside the social security safety net and who were ineligible for government subsidies. Mr Li Ka-shing offered financial assistance to the individuals and families with these medical needs.
In 2018, the Foundation funded the following services with a donation of HK$100 million in collaboration with the Hospital Authority:
Funding to support medical faculties at the University of Hong Kong and the Chinese University of Hong Kong, while also offering financial assistance to their patients
In 2020, the Foundation donated over HK$100 million:
To fund PCI procedures and also the newly added Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion (LAAO)
To support a pilot initiative, LKS Career Seeding Fund for Medical graduates from HKU Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine
To support the Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital’s “Transcatheter Cardiovascular Interventions Subsidy Scheme”
To support 12 non-governmental organisations providing various services to, among others, the visually impaired, mentally handicapped and physically disabled, autistic children, elderly, and underprivileged families
