(Hong Kong, 10 April 2012) Seventeen Round 1 projects of “Love Ideas, Love HK” have been chosen as Best Practice Awards recipients for their outstanding performance, promotion effectiveness, enhancement of public communications and contributions to social harmony.
The award winners for institution projects were selected by a panel of adjudicators formed between the Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS), consulting organisation of “Love Ideas, Love HK” and professionals, while the award winners for individual projects were selected by St James’ Settlement (SJS), the programme’s supporting organisation, and project winners themselves. The Li Ka Shing Foundation (LKSF) fully supported the Best Practice Awards.
Round 1 of “Love Ideas, Love HK” returned 177 winning projects in 2010 and they were all invited to apply for the awards. Judges have evaluated the project quality, design and implementation, accountability and transparency, effective use of media, positive impact to the community and beneficiaries, project and time management, as well as reporting details, accuracy and timeliness and so on before choosing the award recipients.

Love Ideas Love HK
“Love Ideas, Love HK” is one of the initiatives of LKSF’s HK$300-million public philanthropic campaign “Love HK Your Way!”, an effort to engage Hong Kong citizens to improve our community in issues they deeply care about. Combining the powers of technology, charity and community awareness, “Love Ideas, Love HK” encourages Hong Kong residents to vote for projects they believe are beneficial to their community. Until now, public votes for the creative projects accumulated to 1.3 million in the last two rounds. And the LKSF has donated over HK$64 million for the 427 selected projects, over 1.1 million people have benefited.
Round 3 of “Love Ideas, Love HK” is about to kick off. HKCSS and SJS will continue our support in the latest round, details of which will be announced shortly.
